Review: Maybelline New York Dream Bouncy Blush in Peach Satin

I have been on the hunt for the perfect cream blush for a while now because they’ve always been a hit or a miss for me. My biggest concern is that some cream blushes have the worst consistency, which is a huge problem because you want to be able to blend onto your skin without any issues. When I got my hands on this one by Maybelline, I was highly impressed. The Bouncy blush is a lightweight cream blush that magically feels like powder when applied to cheeks. It’s creamy enough to blend well on the skin. The name is derived from the fact that the consistency of the blush is like of a memory foam mattress. It kind of feels like foamy clay (which sounds scary but it really isn’t!), due to its gel like formula. Peach Satin is a coraly peachy pink colour, which is the perfect pop of colour on the cheeks this spring! The colour pay off is fantastic. You can gradually build the colour by layering it on (and it doesn’t feel heavy at all). You can also leave it sheer, for a more natural look. Maybelline claims that it is dermatologist and allergy tested. I can definitely say that my oversensitive skin was not irritated by this product at all. The best way to apply this is by using clean fingertips to rub onto the apples of your cheek and then work towards the outer end of the cheekbones. This way you have control over colour intensity. I absolutely love this blush and cannot wait to buy the rest of colours in this line. I am absolutely impressed by this blush given it’s a drugstore brand! At less than $9 (CDN), this is an absolute steal and highly recommended. If you want to try a cream blush, then this is the best one to do so. You can purchase this at any drugstore or department store that sell Maybelline products!

Happy Shopping Dolls! x

  • Blends well
  • Colour intensity can be built
  • Great colour pay off
  • Doesn’t irritate skin
  • Price

  • Can be a bit messy (because you have to apply with your fingers)

Rating: 10/10 (Best. Cream. Blush. Ever. I am not easily impressed with cream blushes but this one really blew me away!)
