Hello Dolls! It’s Monday and you know what that means? I have one of those motivational posts for you…wait…no I don’t. Instead what I do have is my favourite looks from the Golden Globes Award last night (I think it’s better and a kind of motivational post…don’t ya think?). If you’re still looking for some motivation, then you can check out my previous posts here. Other than that, can we please discuss let me tell you how every single person’s outfit was spectacular last night. I, literally, had the hardest time coming up with 10 of my favourite looks. With that being said, here are MY favourite looks from last night. Thanks to E!Online, UsWeekly and Hollywood life for the pics 🙂:

Blake Lively

blake-lively-golden-globes-2017

…Because she’s totally worth being on the top of my best dressed list. Seriously, didn’t she like just have a baby? Love the emerald cuff with the all black gown. The hint of metallic sparkle is SO hot just like her hubby.

Emma Stone

74th Annual Golden Globe Awards, Arrivals, Los Angeles, USA - 08 Jan 2017

Her dress has stars! Like come on. That alone makes this dress stunning. I can’t find a single thing wrong with this outfit. It’s making me just LaLa all around my room (yeah, I know that’s a terrible)…but how gorgeous does she look. This is an Easy A+ outfit (kay I’ll stop).

Brie Larson

74th Annual Golden Globe Awards, Arrivals, Los Angeles, USA - 08 Jan 2017

Brie looks incredible in this gorgeous red dress. I love the embellishments woven in. My favourite part of this look is the fact that she is rocking a matching lip and breaking all kinds of beauty rules in doing so…and I love it.

Kristen Bell

fd50b7db8146c4d4a1822222e8064cc4

Kristen Bell looks absolutely gorgeous in this sparkly gown. It’s making me want to stare at my non sparkly outfits and sing let it go over and over again (lol). But seriously, the plunging neckline looks classy, not trashy, and that’s why this outfit works!

Busy Phillipps

sub-buzz-31095-1483921224-10

OMG REMEMBER HER FROM DAWSON’S CREEK? How GORG is this dress? I actually want to jump into this picture and steal this so that I can wear it everyday! I love the minimalistic embroidered flowers. AND that purse…purrrfecto!

Michelle Williams

sub-buzz-6224-1483920306-5

On keeping with the Dawson’s Creek theme, Michelle Williams hit it out of the park with this look. She basically has hit all the trendy looks in one outfit and I can’t be any happier. The minimal makeup and the sleeked pixie hair is the perfect bow to her outfit!

Priyanka Chopra

sub-buzz-3526-1483919723-7

Let us take a moment and appreciate the fact that Priyanka Chopra is a fashion icon in the making. Everything about this outfit is perfect from the hair to the makeup and she’s making EVERY single brown girl scream, ain’t nobody like a desi girl 😛

Janelle Monae

sub-buzz-1660-1483921164-5

OMG. OMG. OMG. I love this. Janelle just proves more and more why pushing the boundaries in fashion will work out and why taking risks are always worth it. I love everything here from the polka dots to the organza to the sequins. All kinds of glam.

Natalie Portman

sub-buzz-32434-1483919864-6

Jackie O would be SO proud of this elegant look Natalie is sporting. The colour, the makeup, the hair and everything else is just spectacularly chic. Also, only Natalie Portman can make maternity dressing looks this perfectly glamourous.

Lily Collins

sub-buzz-32593-1483919174-1

This is actually what a Disney Princess looks like in real life. No joke. The blush gown embellished with printed flowers is the prettiest thing I’ve seen on a red carpet. I love that she kept the princess vibe with her hair and makeup. All kinds of gorgeous right here.

See ya in the next post!

kisses,

S

Fashion Diaries: The Best Dressed at The Oscars 2015

The Oscars were on last night (just in case you didn’t know) and anyone who’s obsessed with fashion and movies were glued to their TVs watching! Neil Patrick Harris was the host and he was alright. The opening monologue was probably the highlight of his hosting duties but everything after that was kind of okay. There were two incredible musical performances that stood out last night. Lady Gaga’s The Sound of Music tribute proves why she is talented; and John Legend and Common hit it out of the park with their performance of their Oscar-winning song, Glory. The winners were all as expected with a few surprises (hello Birdman). My favourite part of the night? Meryl Streep’s reaction to Patricia Arquette’s comment about pay equality for women (duh, she is the queen of Hollywood). With that being said, let’s talk about the fashion! Everyone was dressed to impress, with a few misses (as always). There were 4 major fashion trends last night: Pale Colours, Red, Statement Necklaces and Visible lip colour! Below is a list of my best dressed along with my worst dressed:

anna-kendrickAnna Kendrick in Thakoon

Anna looked incredible in this peach flowy gown. The embellished neck detail and the cut out on this dress is beautiful. Her hair and makeup were also flawless making this one of her best dressed ensembles ever!

jennifer-hudsonJennifer Hudson in Romona Keviza

JHud makes wearing yellow look easy. This strapless body-hugging column dress fits her like a glove. The detailed belt on her waistline is pretty. Dangly earrings, swept back hair and gorgeous makeup finished the look.

america-ferrera-oscars-2015-academy-awards2 America Ferrera in Jenny Packham

This beautiful slate bluey grey flowy gown looks incredible on America. The matchy jewelry is not tacky. The belt on her waistline is nice. She finished the look with wavy hair, simple makeup, and a pop of colour clutch!

slide_402388_5048134_compressedMargot Robbie in Saint Laurent

Margot Robbie is the ultimate glamourista. This black tailored gown looks exquisite. From the sheer sleeves to the low-cut front, everything about this is amazing. The gorgeous zipper statement necklace is what elevates the style quotient here.

x700Rosamund Pike in Givenchy

Red is Rosamund’s colour. She looks gorgeous in this gown. I love the front slit and the scalloped neckline. This look is just so pretty with the simple hair, makeup and matchy shoes! Rosamund really hit it out of the park!

x700-3Lupita Nyong’o in Custom Calvin Kline

All hail Lupita! She knows how to take a fashion risk. This embellished pearl gown is gorgeous! Lupita looks incredible. This look is styled so well that everything else is neutral leaving the dress to be the main attraction!

slide_402388_5049308_compressed Emma Stone in Elie Saab

How pretty does Emma look in this gold embellished gown? The cut of this dress and the long sleeves are perfect for the Oscars. Her hair and makeup are also flawless, which enhances this whole ensemble to another level!

x700-4Naomi Watts in Armani Prive

Everything about this is perfection. The embellished brick print on the dress is perfection. The peaking sparkly black tube top is perfection. Her wavy hair and makeup are perfection. This whole ensemble is pure perfection!

slide_402388_5049288_compressedJennifer Aniston in Versace

Jen has really brought her A game this awards season. The pale embellished gown looks ravishing! The detailed work on this dress is gorgeous. Jen sticks to her signature hair & makeup, which allows her dress to be the focal point.

slide_402388_5048916_compressed Reese Witherspoon in Tom Ford

Reese looks gorgeous in this unique icy blue column dress. I love the black material used for the off the shoulder sleeves and to accentuate her waistline. She keeps it simple with the accessories, makeup and hair.

slide_402388_5049208_compressedScarlett Johansson in Versace

Is it hard to believe that she just had a baby a few months ago? She looks gorgeous in this emerald-green gown. The neckpiece on this dress is amazing! The hair, the makeup, the minimal accessories works harmoniously together.

x700-2Dakota Johnson in Saint Laurent

Dakota’s red gown looks beautiful on her! The detailed work on the one sleeve elevates the style quotient of this dress. This is tailored perfectly. The accessories and makeup are on point but I love that she went with a ponytail!

felicity-jones Felicity Jones in Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen

She may have not won an Oscar this year, but she definitely won every fashionista’s approval with this ensemble! The pale metallic grey dress is marvellous. The detail on the bodice and the neck is beautiful! The hair pulled up and the makeup was flawlessly done.

slide_402388_5049178_compressed Jennifer Lopez in Elie Saab

Is she REALLY in her 40s? This nudey blush princess ball gown looks amazing on Jen! The embellished work on the dress is exquisite. I love that she went with a pony tail and pink makeup. Seriously, JLo looks amazing!

slide_402388_5049102_compressedAnna Faris in Zuhair Murad

Anna Faris looks so adorably pretty in this icy white embellished strapless flowy gown. She is someone who is starting to make an impact on the red carpet. The belt and the clutch match perfectly with her dress. She keeps it simple with the hair and makeup.

x700-1Cate Blanchett in John Galliano

And this is how you wear a simple black gown to the Oscars! The sleeveless column dress with a tiny train is gorgeous but what elevates this outfit? The blue layered statement necklace. The hair and the makeup was super simple, which is perfect for this kind of ensemble!

slide_402388_5048538_compressedJulianne Moore in Custom Chanel

This was her year. Every award show she went to, she was dressed to impress. Chanel did a great job on this artistic gown for Julianne! The colour, the cut, the exquisite detailed work and the tiny train is all perfectly done. The bold lip and the hair pulled back finishes this amazing look.

My Worst Dressed of the night?

rs_634x1024-150222170250-634.Nicole-Kidman-Academy-Awards.ms.022215Nicole Kidman

All I really have to say about this dress is…Why? The red belt is out-of-place and reminds me of duct tape. The colour of this gown is too disco ball like and her clutch doesn’t go with it at all. Better luck next time, Nicole!

Shopping Diaries: Target Haul

IMG_4303IMG_4304

If you live in Canada, then you are already aware of how Target has decided to close down all of its stores here (you can read about that here). This past Thursday, Target began their liquidation sale and of course I had to go in and see what it was all about! Was I impressed by the sales? Not completely. I mean everything was on sale (anywhere from 10%-30% off) but it wasn’t as impressive as they were projecting it to be. Don’t get me wrong, I still was able to score 30% off all my beauty items but I still do think Wal-Mart is always a better alternative. Which is probably why Target didn’t work out in Canada. In general, I do love the US version of Target because they offer brands which you cannot get anywhere else and their prices are pretty good. Personally, I think I got lucky with some of the products I was able to purchase given I went later in the evening to see what the stock was like. It was insane, I had to almost fight off, Confessions of a Shopaholic style, a woman to buy the last Sonia Kashuk eye shadow palette on the shelf. If you want to check it out yourself, I suggest you go ASAP before majority of the stock is done!

IMG_4306

  1. Revlon Colour Burst Lip Butter in Candy Apple (I’ve heard such good things about this lipstick and I have never tried it so I can’t wait!)
  2. Maybelline’s Master Kajal in Onyx Rush (As everyone is aware, I have a soft spot for black eyeliners, especially if they’re on sale)
  3. You are Purr-fect Stoneware mug (Who can resist this adorable mug, plus it was less than $5, so it was a steal really!)
  4. Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick in Peony (Since I’ve seen Emma Stone’s commercial about these lipsticks, I had to pick some up)
  5. Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Ruby Do (Well, the wine colour is in this year, so..)
  6. Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Too Cool (I’m obsessed with these, I wanted to pick a white one up to use as a base for bright eyeshadow colours, to make them pop!)
  7. Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick in Hydrangea (Perfect colour for the Spring!)
  8. Sonia Kashuk’s Eye Quad in Fair and Square (I’ve heard SO much about this palette and saw it on pinterest, so I was ecstatic when I got the last one!)
  9. Maybelline’s Brow Drama in Transparent (I actually was running out of mine, so I decided to stock up)
  10. Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick in Primrose (I love the name and colour, so of course I had to get it)
  11. Essie Nail Polish in Aruba Blue (HOW PRETTY IS THIS?!)
  12. Loreal’s Voluminous Butterfly waterproof Mascara in Black (I’m so impressed by the voluminous mascara line that I had to see how this one measures up)
  13. Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick in Gladiolus (Emma Stone wore this EXACT lip colour at the SAG awards…)
  14. Nicole by OPI Nail Polish in Oh that’s Just Grape! (Can you believe it, I have never owned a colour like this of nail polish before?)
  15. Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick in Azalea (This is a pretty colour for the spring!)

Almost everyone that was expected to win, won and it was fun to watch everyone’s acceptance speeches! The SAG Awards’ red carpet had to be one of the best red carpets I’ve seen this awards season. Best Dressed Celebrities: The Met Gala 2014

This is the most awaited event in every fashionista’s life. The infamous Met Gala is an annual fundraising gala which raises money for the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Arts. Every year there is a theme that coincides with the featured exhibit at the museum. This year the theme was based on Charles James’ Beyond Fashion, who is known as “America’s first Couturier”. This year’s gala chairs were the editor-in-chief of Vogue, Anna Wintour, and Sarah Jessica Parker. They were responsible for the benefit committee and the guest list (this is like the ultimate A list party you want to be invited to). Did you know that Anna Wintour personally approves every attendee’s outfit? Everyone tries to bring their A game to this party. Some do a great job, others fumble but below you will find my favourite looks from the Met Gala this year (in no particular order of course)!
