How To Shop At Sephora

giphy33So you want to know how to shop at Sephora? Here are a few things I’ve learned since I practically live there (lolz):

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A LIST because if you go in without one you will..(I’m being thousand percent real here)…end up purchasing things you do not need solely because it swatches gorgeously on your hands!

If you’re going in without a list…I got you. Make sure you connect to the WIFI at Sephora (it’s legit free at all their locations) so that you can quickly google reviews…or go to your favourite bookmarked blog to see …*ahem*

Navigating through Sephora is literally like a fun maze. There are multiple brands and products everywhere…SO…

ASK FOR HELP. The Sephora beauty experts that work there are geniuses (shout out to Sephora Square One for ALWAYS holding it down for me). You can ask them anything and they will always have immense knowledge of the items. Like seriously, what is non-touring? Why do I need to strobe!?

Being at a Sephora is an emotional roller coaster (one that I enjoy tbh). For example (this really happened): I went to a Sephora to purchase Anastasia Beverly Hills’ Liquid Lipstick in Heathers. I swatched it and fell in love…only to be told it was sold out in store…and then I realized it’s okay, I can order it online on their website.

Take advantage of their Skin IQ tester thingamabob (I’m sure there’s some scientific name). It literally matches to the closest shade in any foundation at Sephora. This makes it easier for the clerks and you to find the perfect foundation/concealer match!

Sign up for their Beauty Insiders program! Bruh, what you waiting for? It’s free and you get access to products and sales and freebies….AND A BIRTHDAY GIFT!

Be prepared to stand in line for….a while. (You can always order online)

Sephora is notorious for giving out samples for free so ASK! If you’re a commitment phobe about certain products, then this is the perfect alternative for you!

Don’t forget to check out their sale section, whether in store or online. I’ve gotten nail polish for like $3 before..which normally retails for $12. Score.

HAVE FUN! I know it can be overwhelming but if you’re a beauty junkie like me…this place is better than Disneyland.

Make sure you follow me on all my socials! All the GIFs are from Giphy!

Shopping Diaries: Sephora VIB Rouge Haul

Oh no, I’ve done it again! It’s a mystery to me how I can’t seem to leave a Sephora store without purchasing something. I don’t know, maybe there’s something in the air that hypnotizes me to make impulse purchases? Seriously, I’m that girl. The girl who literally goes to Sephora the day she gets paid (Hello, living with parents for a long time because I’m broke AF). And because of this addiction problem, I’ve somehow managed to hit Sephora VIB Rouge status second time in a row now. If you don’t know too much about the Beauty Insiders program, then you can read this post to find out more.

But EVERY Sephora addict knows what November means…the annual VIB Rouge sale! This sale lasts for a few days and you get 20% off your whole purchase (maybe I will be able to afford that shiny car now). I find this is the perfect time to pick up gifts and goodies not just for you but for loved ones in your life (see I’m not always buying just for me, which is totally justifying my VIB Rouge Status here). If you’ve read my post from April (yes I know that’s like a gazzilion years ago), then you are already aware of the event for VIB Rougers, which takes place the night before the sale kicks off. The event was great as always and I was able to get pretty much everything I needed, as always. Below you will find a list of what I bought and a few freebies that I got. If you want me to review any of these items, then comment below and I’ll do my best to get a review up ASAP!

Happy Shopping Dolls! x (Also, if you’re a VIBer, the sale starts the end of this week for you guys)

  1. Sephora Favourites: Give Me More Lip (I buy this every year and it’s TOTALLY worth it) *This item is sold out online, but try your local Sephora store*
  2. Beauty Blender: Makeups Best Friend Set (My beauty blender needed serious replacing and this set had 3 different blenders for a pretty decent price)*This item is sold out online, but try your local Sephora store*
  3. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Soft Brown (This is my second time purchasing this product…#enoughsaid)
  4. Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in Hexagram (I believe after months and months of searching, I’ve found MY perfect red)
  5. Kat Von D Ink Liner in Nerdrum (I’m obsessed with these liquid liners because it does everything I want it to do)
  6. Clinique’s Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel (This is a repurchase and you can click here and here to find out why)

Two things not pictured here were gifts for my Mom: Smashbox’s Art.Love.Color. Eyes set & NARS velvet lip pencil in Cruella (Don’t worry I’m not spoiling anything, I already gave them to her!)

Also, I also redeemed the 500 point perk from Urban Decay (pictured below here)

…And here are some of the freebies I got at the event:

M.A.C/Estee Lauder/Smashbox/Clinique Warehouse Haul

So this past Sunday, I was lucky enough to score an invite to the M.A.C./ Estee Lauder/Smashbox/Clinique Warehouse sale and I figured I’d do a quick haul post on the items purchased. I’ve had the opportunity to go to a few of these in the past, along with the L’oreal warehouse sales as well. These are the types of sales I typically enjoy the most because you can really get some great deals from these brands. I tend to stock up on things I need along with trying some different products that I would never buy in full price. Beware though, the prices are so great that sometimes you end up putting a lot more in your cart than you really need (speaking from experience lol). These invite-only sales are always packed with people and takes place for 3 days. After going to a few of these in my life, I’ve figured out that the best day to go is the first day because you will most likely get a lot of the products in full stock whereas if you went on the last day. Although, there are still a few goodies left on the last day. These sales take place 1-4 times a year and if you are lucky enough to score an invite, makeup heaven awaits you! This time around I purchased products that I’ve always wanted to try but never really bought them at the store at full price. The prices of the products were generally great and a lot lower than retail prices, so I was extremely happy with that (who doesn’t love a good bargain?). Below you will find a list of things purchased. If you’d like to see reviews, swatches and thoughts on these products…comment below and let me know!
