Review: The Body Shop Vitamin E Gentle Cleansing Facial Wipes

First Impressions, Product Feel & Thoughts

I had never heard of this product until I stepped foot inside The Body shop. In fact, I only picked this up because the whole store was buy 3 products for $33(CDN) and I needed a third product. The reason why I picked it up was because it smelled nice and I needed quick moisturizing cleansing wipes, which I can use on lazy days (which is often tbh). I gravitated towards this because it was pink, had Vitamin E and seemed pretty simple to use. So, when I got home…I used it immediately and I was extremely surprised. To me, this product was just a generic bunch of cleansing wipes I can use when I run out of my fav but AFTER I used it, I was shocked at how much I began to love it. It removed makeup flawlessly without irritating my skin and it left my skin super moisturized, which is perfect for the winter time. The formula in these wipes are meant to smooth out your skin and it def did do that at first use. It’s perfect for all skin types and it’s super gentle. According to the packaging, it’s supposed to cleanse, tone and moisturize all at one go. Although, I didn’t really see much of a “toning” effect. It did do everything else pretty well and I’m def going to repurchase this once I’m done. The packaging is your typical makeup towelette packaging and it’s pink (!!!).

Price, Availability, Accessibility

As I mentioned, I got this part of a deal in-store 3 for $33 (CDN) but it retails for $16 for 25 towelettes. You can purchase this at The Body Shop!

Final Verdict

I will be the first one to admit, I underestimated this product immensely. I didn’t think it would be up to par with my Clinique wipes, but these are as good as them. I am definitely repurchasing this product not because it does the job well but because my skin felt so soft and smooth after that I didn’t even need to use a moisturizer (especially on those lazy nights you want to jump into bed).

Overall Rating: 9.5/10 (only because it claimed to tone your skin and I didn’t really see that but other than that this product is flawless)

10 Beauty Products I Obsessed Over In 2016

Hi Dolls! If you haven’t read my previous blog post, then you can do that by clicking here! With 2016 coming to a close, I wanted to share with you 10 beauty products I’ve been obsessed with this year! Seriously, what an amazing year for beauty, right? So many new products were launched and each one knocked it out of the park! So without further adieu, here are 10 beauty products I was obsessively obsessed with:

1. NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint: This foundation is perfect. It’s buildable, it melts into your skin and it pictures really well. Did I mention it’s got SPF too? Score.
2. Tartelette in Bloom Palette: Tarte really hit the ball out of the park with ALL the palettes they released this year. This one, by far, is one of my favourites because you can wear the shadows as they are or wet and it looks AMAZING! It’s also got a good mixture of mattes and shimmers.
3. Tom Ford Beauty’s Blush in Wicked: This is wickedly awesome. I’ve never loved a blush more than this particular one. You can build the colour for intensity and it looks flawless (like you actually woke up having rosy cheeks).
4. Dior’s Diorshow Mascara: My love affair with this mascara will never end. It made my favourites list numerous times and well, it’s the best mascara my eyelashes have ever tried.
5. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Soft Brown: I was never into doing my brows until I purchased this product. This is the easiest brow pencil to use and you are guaranteed to have on-fleek eye brows that look natural!
6. Urban Decay’s Ultimate Ozone Multipurpose Lip Pencil: I did not wear any of my lipsticks this year without this as my lip primer. This thing makes the lipstick stay on what seems forever and I can’t be happier.
7. NYX Lip Lingerie in Exotic: I don’t know why I didn’t find this product earlier but this has to be the prettiest nude lip colour on my lips. Not only does it brighten up my look but its perfect for day-time wear!
8. Huda Beauty’s Liquid Matte Lipstick in Heartbreaker: Heartbreaker, you’ve got the best of me (yes, I’m Mariah-ing it as I type). If you’ve read my review, you already know how much I love this. This shade of red is one of the prettiest I’ve seen!
9. Kat Von D’s Lipstick in Tijuana: Not only do I love this lipstick to bits, but this was also my most viewed blog post this year (thank you!). This bright red looks absolutely stunning and I can’t wait to keep wearing this into the new year!
10. Black Eye Liner: Kat Von D’s Tattoo Liner+NARS Larger Than Life in Vio Venito: The reason why I paired these two together was because I always wear them together. The liquid liner is one of the best I’ve ever used. The NARS liner is perfect to wear on your waterline. Making these two the perfect pair! (I also love them individually too).

How To Be A Blair Waldorf In The Real World

As most of you know, there was a point in time where I was obsessed with the show Gossip Girl (seriously, how fashion forward was it?). Like most TV junkies, I had my favourite characters (hello, Chuck Bass…you are so hot). There was one character in this TV show, whose wardrobe I want to steal. In fact, I’m not even going to lie…I, to this very day, try to emulate this character’s style! I’m sure you already know who I’m talking about (duh, it’s the title of this blog post & probz the reason why you clicked it)….that’s none other than Blair Waldorf. I can probably spend hours writing about who she is, what she does and what her style is (in fact I think I even wrote about it eons ago in THIS blog post). But in this blog post, I’m going to share with you few tips on how you can be emulate Blair. Being Blair Waldorf, especially today, isn’t easy but if you follow these rules…you’ll be a Blair Waldorf in this world:

• One cannot leave the house without a headband on. No matter what, even if it’s a head scarf…you need this hair accessory in your life. Also, bonus brownie points if it’s encrusted with bling.

• You need to own tights…and not just your basic black tights, you need printed tights. Coloured tights. Lacy tights. Basically, all kinds of tights.

• If you’ve got multiple cardigans, you are already channeling your inner Blair Waldorf. Seriously, you cannot own enough cardigans. There are your basics, your flared, & even tweed (yes, they do exist).

• Don’t forget to take calculated risks with fashion. Ruffles, bold colours and prints are great when paired with the right hair and makeup! So make sure you take a look in the mirror before you step out.

• Accessories are a must. You cannot leave your house without a necklace or a bracelet. Or even a purse. It’s just not right (Also, hair accessories are always a must…see tip #1).

• Having one jacket is not enough. You have to invest in multiple different styles of jackets. I mean you can’t just wear ONE trench coat or one pea coat. You also need multiple colours.

• Skirts/Dresses are musts. If you’re not wearing pants that is (leggings don’t count). & make sure you pair them up with the right pair of shoes and accessories.

 

• Leggings/Tights CANNOT be worn as pants. You HAVE to pair them with a skirt, a dress or something that covers your behind. There’s nothing classy about wearing leggings as pants.

• Your makeup cannot and should not be overcaked. That is not classy at all, at least not in the Upper East Side. You do not want to look like Georgina’s alter ego (only die hards will get this one). In fact, no one wants to be Georgina’s anything…other than Humphrey, maybe (puke).
